Education:  Rev. Stephanie Tunison is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from the University of Cincinnati.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from UC with a BS in Special Education.  Ordained in the United Methodist tradition with course work from United Theological Seminary, her secondary appointment is at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church.

Counseling Philosophy:  “With over 20 years of ministry in organizations and counseling I have learned we all get stuck at some point in time and need a ‘boost over the fence.’  I believe we are all precious and sacred in God’s eyes.  It is a sacred trust to enter into counseling.  It is a place where we need to feel safe and valued.  That is the place where I walk and am blessed to walk with you, whether it is a short distance or for a longer journey.”

Areas of Practice:
As a Christian, I am sensitive to where you are on your faith journey and will gladly integrate faith where you are comfortable.

Grief recovery: Depression, life transitions, divorce, death and job losses all have tremendous impacts on our day-to-day lives.

Life recovery:  Past abuse or neglect, shame, guilt and insecurities of life can continue to affect our current relationships.

Life happens:  Miscarriage, abortion, illness, chronic-pain, military service, isolation, empty-nest, aging, and downsizing moves can overwhelm us.

Population served: Individuals, couples, families and teens.

Type of Therapy: Cognitive Behavioral; Rational Emotive; and Rogerian offering empathic listening support.
