Rick Kasper is a Clinical Social Worker with Supervision designation independently licensed in the State of Ohio. His professional credentials are L.I.S.W.-S. Rick has 32 years of counseling experience, doing addiction counseling for the first seven years, and individual, couples, and family counseling for the last 25 years.
A consistent theme in Rick’s approach is a deep respect for each individual person, acceptance and support of the person’s past and present struggles, and providing hope for the future. He focuses on the person’s strengths and encourages them to make changes to get more of what they want in life and who they want to be: the best vision and version of themselves. To make this a reality, Rick utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy (a specific form of Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EMDR trauma processing, and Psycho-Dynamic Therapies.
Rick enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He believes that honest communication is a key component of healing and recovery. Rick also believes that each person’s sense of meaning and spirituality can be a valuable support for their healing and growth process. He likes to use humor, mindfulness, and breathing techniques to help clients bring better balance into their daily lives.
Rick has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Dayton, and a Master of Divinity degree from St. Leonard College Franciscan School of Theology.
